my mind is going, oh my goodness I went there yesterday had a cheesesteak with everything on it with onions with whiz whiz also sweet peppers, I am born away by the service they have everything arranged in such a way system that a lot of restaurants probably don't have you kinda have to wait for your stuff. You still have to wait but you order your food then they take your number down and they call you by either your number or text you by your number to your phone , so I can say that is cash only place I feel that sometimes these places are the best places to go because they offer the best food and I like that it's only own family own restaurant I like that it's it's outside, but it's just a walk up counter get your stuff you know I'll get your drinks no fuss no frills . I really enjoyed my cheesesteak too. Every bit of it. It's just the best thing I ever had for a cheesesteak. I was glad I made it to Philadelphia finally. I was really like this is really worth every penny I was going to spend and I started off the day with a sour note with my flight but I made it to Philadelphia and came to here. I am really glad that I got taste Philadelphia all about . I felt the staff was friendly. They took my order. A lady came to me and so what do you want? I knew what I wanted and I didn't waste any time you know but the side note is that there's no bathroom so if you're gonna eat here, go across the street there is , another cheesesteak place but make sure you buy at least a water, so otherwise you were kind of luck for a bathroom. I like that some people say I don't like it soggy I don't like this. I don't like that. That's your personal opinion. I want the best of the best as some of the best cheesesteaks in the city and I've read many reviews and I want something original and unique I didn't wanna go pet and Gino I can say that I'm from Detroit, Michigan and if you came to Detroit Michigan looking for the best pizza I will tell you the real truth and not just direct to tourist trap , I honestly wanted to go where were tourist there were some tourists but not too many tourists like out the door. I wanted to go somewhere locals go to. I picked the right place and that's I will definitely come back for more cheesesteaks if I'm in Philly, but I would love to try other places too, but I feel this is the right choice

My wife and I enjoy sharing 1/2 regular cheesesteak and a chicken cheesesteak. One of two days of enjoying good meal.

Ever since I saw the episode of "Somebody Feed Phil," where Rosenthal rode up to Dalessandro's on horseback, I thought 'if I ever have cheesesteak -- (I'd never had one before) -- that's where I want to go.' Well, today was the day. My husband thought it was delish. And me? I'll stick to Chinese takeout. No slight to Dalessandro's. I'm guessing cheesesteak isn't my bag. A foodie friend from Philly said that Dalessandro's is amongst the best. So please, if you're curious by all means give 'em a try. And be patient. Lines can be long -- again, the place is famous -- and remember, cash only.

I've updated my review after realizing that the fault was my own: nobody told me that you have to ask for salt and pepper or that crushed hot peppers are available on request! I had to give my local spot a second chance and it didn't fail to impress! I handled my second trip like a local. They had my phone number and name saved, making the order quick. I ordered the same sandwich with salt and pepper, loaded with crushed hot peppers: the mushroom cheesesteak with provolone sharp, grilled onions, and a side of long hots. I take back what I said about lacking flavor and zing! While it won't melt your face like my beloved habaneros and ghost pepper, I will say that peppers added a little punch in true Philly style. The meat being seasoned was all that was lacking... no notes on how to improve the star of the show. This sandwich is simple but executed to absolute perfection. I couldn't bring myself to try yellow cheese, but I'll have to brave American or whiz someday. You don't order it for good health, after all. It's better than Chubby's... sorry! My humble apologies for doubting that this gem is the top dog of cheesesteaks. The search for a worthy contender continues.

First time in Philly. I have a client who's born and raised here. I asked her where I should get a cheesesteak since I was only in town one night...Pat's or Geno's she said neither. Dalessandro's was her recommendation. She said it was the best in town. I got a mushroom steak with American cheese and Whiz and I added sweet and hot peppers, a little mayo and sautéed onions. It was the best cheesesteak I've ever had in my life! I also enjoyed a delicious Hanks, orange cream soda to go with it. Loved it! My wife ordered a pepper cheesesteak with onions, the sharp provolone and mayo. She did not get the sweet peppers that she ordered. She felt that her sandwich was pretty bland and she was disappointed. I offered her a few bites of my sandwich which she loved and regretfully stated that is what she should've ordered because her sandwich was very bland.

Should really be 4.5 stars. The only knock is that their wait times are ridiculously long, and their stated wait times on their screens significantly understate the wait times. We came around 730 this past Saturday, during the heat wave and standing around for 40 minutes was miserable. I will say though that the wait was still worth it because these cheesesteak was delicious!! The meat was tender but will just enough chew to give it a good texture, and the cheese was fully incorporated throughout. I got salt and pepper, and fried onions; no peppers this time and that was the right move! If you are in the area, make a trip here but plan to wait twice whatever is stated on their screen. You have been warned.
